antioxidant green tea
Is it safe to for dogs to drink plain, unsweetened Green Tea/White Tea?

Update: A few days ago I posted a question about my dog who was not eating. Thanks for the replies. We took him to the Vet and got some very bad news. He has liver cancer that has spread to his stomach and lungs. Needless to say, we’re devastated. At this point, he’s on antibiotics and has started eating again. Today was the first time he’s eaten anything without vomiting and we’re doing everything we can to keep him comfortable and happy until the time comes to let him go.

As a result of the answers I received from all of you, we have taken all our dogs off of store-bought dog food and are now feeding them home-cooked brown rice, oats, boiled chicken, veggies, and ground up eggshells (for calcium).

While my husband and I drink unsweetened Green Tea for its antioxidant benefits, I’m now wondering if it’s safe for our dogs so that they, too, may benefit from it. Again, thanks for all your constructive input. A prayer for our beautiful boy Ben is greatly appreciated.

I have never heard that you can’t but perhaps you should contact the vet to make sure. Even if it is safe, you’ll want to make sure that it is okay with any meds he may be on.
Sorry about the pooch. How sad.
